Our Goal - We have set a target of 24,600.

Both in the number of people we want to make aware of what GI Cancers are and how they can help AND in raising $24,600.

24,600 represents the number of Australians diagnosed every year with a digestive cancer. 

If every person we meet or hears about our message of GI Cancer gave $1.00 we would reach our target.

After 10 years of service, I have now left OM (Operation Mobilization, an international mission organisation) and am embarking on a great Australian adventure.

Some of you know I was very excited to announce that Gigi, my wife, will be taking long service leave for 3 months starting in October. We plan to travel in a campervan sharing the gospel and raising awareness and much needed funds for cancer research.

I (Steve) was diagnosed with a rare cancer - known as GIST -  back in 2006, and as such we have been on this journey for a long time. As many of you know, I have been on a clinical trial for the last 14 months. With such positive results, 25% reduction of cancer in my liver, we want to share with others the Lord's goodness and grace.

I have begun sharing my story with groups across Sydney. Our first talk was with a Country Women's Association group at Blacktown -  all went extremely well and I was supported by Nicole from the GI Cancer Institute who came with me and we spoke for about 25 mins.

The GI Cancer Institute

The GI Cancer Institute help fund research via their network right across Australia and is the organisation we are teaming up with. They are the only organisation in Australia conducting research in to all cancers that affect the digestive system - including oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bowel and colorectal cancers.
